Hi everyone, we are really excited to be presenting this latest update today.
As you know, we are constantly striving to make COLD FORMED easy and we believe this update certainly helps to do that.

1. Moment Frames
Where possible the program will now automatically place Moment Frames so that the warnings about cross bracing will not be there. Previously when designing a building with openings, be that doors or windows, when you had an opening in every bay you would get a bracing warning. The way to fix that was to create additional bays for bracing or to request custom engineering and have the engineer add in a Moment Frame. With this latest update those warnings have been significantly reduced as the software now does the thinking for you.
2. Partition Walls
Where previously partition walls were limited to single frame building and were non-structural, now the participation wall is treated as a structural item and as a result, the frame size is likely to drop in size and can also remove knee and apex braces. We have seen significant savings in some of the buildings we have tested.
With both of these changes you DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING, the program will do the thinking for you.
