…and I hope you have a very properous 2021! That shouldn’t be too difficult after a year of drought, fires, floods and a lingering global pandemic..!
This month I would like to illustrate the HiTen Online Shed Designer tool. This is a fabulous feature that you should be utilising on your website! The online shed designer gives your customers the tools to design their shed “concept” directly on your website. Upon completing the design, you will recieve an email with an .ACT file. When you open the file, the customer’s details, site address and shed design will populate directly into your design and order management software.
This is an incredibly useful tool that helps make the design process simple! In the below example, I designed a shed with the HiTen online shed designer and submitted it from the website. Within 30 seconds I recieved the ACT file with the customer’s details and conceptual design. This covers about 90% of the design. You will still need to apply the site specific engineering (however this will be automated next month when we integrate with ShedSafe’s Site Check software).
HiTen’s standard roof slope designs are in 5% increments. However, if the customer fequests a non-standard roof slope, such as 17.5%, your shed design system will automatically draw the required bracketry for this custom roof slope when the shed engineering is ordered. There is no need for drafting services or extra costs, and you do not need to do anything but request a quick engineering check.
When I ran the engineering for this shed, I recieved a warning that nearly all of the windows required a slight adjustment. This is to be expected as the locations are conceptual and our design software wants to place the windows between the girts for ease of installation. Everything else, including the mezzanine dimensions, populated directly into the shed design software perfectly and calculated to the site specific engineering in under 30 seconds.

2. ACT DESIGN FILE SENT TO YOUR INBOX FROM THE CUSTOMER
3. EMAILED ACT FILE WILL OPEN THE ACT SHED DESIGN AND ORDER MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
WITH THE CUSTOMER’S DETAILS AND CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
4. RUN THE ENGINEERING AND SEND A QUOTE TO THE CUSTOMER
